Happy Friday beauties! Officially counting down to Christmas, I haven’t finished my holiday shopping just yet (first time) and I am still deciding on what I want on the menu for the day. Oh, not forgetting our very first Christmas picture as a family of six! Whoa, a family of six? that’s actually the first time I will say that lol, feels good as now I feel we are finally complete and I can’t wait to plan and make up our very own family traditions.
Today’s post is a bit different as I went out of my comfort zone a little bit by mixing different textures and I must say I love it! This is one of the many things I love and enjoy about fashion as it gives the freedom to do literally anything and everything. However, mixing sequins and velvet was actually inspired by a dress I bought to wear for this upcoming new year eve event and I couldn’t believe how well it worked together. I actually got the sequins top during this past summer and I found styling it was a challenge so when the thoughts of mixing it came and I tried it, oh was I glad I didn’t end up returning the sequin top.
Unlike my new year eve dress that had both velvet and sequins in just one outfit, I layered my sequin top with a blue shirt also worn in this post (which also has a strip of sequin on its sides), and I paired this with blue velvet leggings to complement the blue shirt, and black shoes to my top. As always I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did working on it!
