My apologies for always taking a bit longer to share a skin care related post, I will rather share meaningful and worth the wait type than to repeat or share topics that are not beneficial to you. As you know by now, I am a certified/licensed skin therapist, if you are new to my blog you have learned something about me today and I say welcome aboard, I hope you stick around.
Being in the beauty industry, and working full-time coaching, advising and working alongside clients to achieving their skin goals all while treating and maintaining their skin. I do understand that a lot of people out there still do not know their skin type and the right skin products targeted and or geared to their skin concerns.
You can check out all my skin care related post here, then breaking it down I have also shared past post here I share how I conquered acne, what I use for anti-aging here, having said that today’s post is literally a continuation of what I shared in this post however it will be more explanatory and I will suggest more like advice you read this post as well so you can better understand.
Okay, so first of all, DRINKING LOADS OF WATER and I don’t mean just the “recommended 8 ounces” lol, this helps the skin way more than we know consumption of BALANCED DIET and yes what we eat also plan a vital role in how our skin acts. You also have to know our skin is a living organism as well and requires taking great care of. Your skin gives you back what you invested in it, be it time and or money and by money, I mean great products used to maintain it. Now going into what must be put into consideration before getting products to use;
The most important to know is your SKIN TYPE – There are 4 major types of skin types namely
- *Normal Skin = has a good balance and radiates healthy glow always
- *Dry Skin = lacks oil and always bone dry flakes or peels regardless of season or consumption of water
- *Oily Skin = produces excess oil
- *Combination Skin = T-zone is oily (forehead, bridge of nose, cheeks and chin area) while rest of face is normal
So once the skin type is known, the next step is to know your SKIN CONCERNS, – There are different and to be honest vast skin concern and each skin type differ from the other and sometimes one skin type can have multiple skin concern at the same time.
The secret to healthy skin is washing the face twice every day in a circular motion with a cleanser that is made for your skin type.
- Acne ( I use this set here
- Acne scarring
- Hyperpigmentation
- Early or signs of aging ( Read all about it here
- Large Pores
- Sun damage
- Black and Whitehead
- Melasma
- Dark circles
- Puffy eyes
- Dehydrated skin
- Lack of radiance
- Rough texture
- Sensitive skin ( this is amazing here
- Rosacea this skin type can also here
Trust me the list goes way longer than this, however, I don’t want to bore you but you get the gist right.
- Normal Skin = can use any type of product as long as it won’t clog the pores
- *Dry Skin = oil based products are the best
- *Oily Skin = water-based products work very well with this skin type
- *Combination Skin = same as oily skin because this skin type has both oily and normal skin.
Once the skin type is known then making sure to follow a CONSISTENT skin care regime and doing the THREE STEP skin care routine. Though it’s called the three steps however it’s actually more steps, but the main steps consist of using a Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturizer using this both day and especially at night,
Now for a detailed and effective skin care, cleansing, scrub, mask, toning, serum, eye cream, and last moisturizer. Must be used as night-time regime as this repairs and renew the skin while you sleep, as long as you use a very good brand and the entire set there will be visible changes to your skin.
If you find you are still a bit confused on what your skin type is and or concerns are or you are not clear on what products to use, I will be more than happy to help you with anything and all of this. You can contact me here and you can have a look here for skin care, nutrition, and body care.
